This is a two part assignment, but be sure to complete it in one document. You will do part one, then move to the second page to begin part two.
1st (page):
Philosophy Results and Explanation (this should be the heading)
Take the time to complete the inventory on pages 138-141 Download inventory on pages 138-141. This will help you align your thoughts with the philosophies shared in your text. You will need to write a brief explanation on which of the five prominent philosophies you must closely align, and whether you agree or disagree; 300 words minimum. Be sure to provide classroom experiences, as well as information from your text. Be careful to note that the paper should include one or more of these philosophies of education, NOT the four branches of philosophy. This is a great tool to help you begin writing your philosophy of education.
2nd (page):
Philosophy of Education (this should be the heading)
You will now write a one page (the whole page), single spaced document that expresses your personal philosophy of education. You will take mental note of the information you read about the various philosophies to help you create your personal philosophy. You will write this in 1st person using “I think…” ” I feel…” etc… This is YOUR philosophy and should be your thoughts and feelings on education; what you think and feel about students, the learning process, and what kind of teacher you are. This document will be something a future employer will read during your application/interview process. They will read this, and quite possibly use it, to determine if your philosophy matches theirs and/or the schools.
This not an opportunity to share your opinions and beliefs in regards to the educational system. This is not an opportunity to discuss all the issues you believe to be wrong with education.
THIS IS an opportunity to explore areas such as: the role of the teacher, the role of the student, curriculum choices, instructional models, and learning environments.
These can be done in one document, but I would like them to be on their own separate pages with the following titles (no need for your names): 1st- Philosophy Results and Explanation & 2nd-My Philosophy of Education
