Who is famous from their organization? How did they start and how have they
changed? Why is this team relevant in today’s society? Cite where you find all
information!
3) Two pages highlighting one person each from the franchise/organization/
team/school that is in the five categories of sport communication and how it has
affected the team. Cite where you find all information!

b) Who covers the team in the media, or who left this team and is now
working in the media?
c) Who works in support services?
d) Who from this team/franchise has been featured in entertainment?
e) Who is someone else you have enjoyed learning about from this team?

4) Two pages spent looking at the things that are published BY the team–this is
social media, press conferences after a game, highlight reels, the
website–literally anything. Then look at the theories of communication from
chapter 4 and identify what the overall communication strategy for the
team/organization appears to be. Give reasons and cite at least three specific examples of media or communications that prove your point. Include each of
these pieces of media in an Appendix (screenshots, pdfs, links, etc)
5) Look at your organization or team from a critical perspective and examine things
that they could change or could have done differently, as well as things they can
implement in the future. Write two or more pages detailing current strategies and
how these strategies are working. Look at the quarterly earnings report (for
reference, I found the yearly monetary evaluation of the Dallas Stars from Forbes
with one google search

pages on what you think should be done with the brand specifically relating to
their MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS. What isn’t working? If it’s their website,
why? Is it their social media presence? Write about at least four different
strategies that the team can implement to change these things. This isn’t a
business analysis of what would make them money. Look at what ticket holders
and supporters want from the team, and think of ways to communicate these
changes. Remember from chapter 9 the four reasons why it’s hard to market a
sport product. How do you work around that?
6) Use your creativity and create the digital ads or social media account, etc. for
TWO of the four strategies that you wrote about. These should be included in the
Appendix as well, and referenced as the APA would require it.
7) Lastly, make sure you have a page with APA citations from all the pieces you
pulled this information from. You should have IN-TEXT CITATIONS and also a
Works Cited page, as well as the APPENDIX.
