Assignment Introduction:
You are serving as a practice manager for a multispecialty cancer center. The center has experienced a 20% growth spurt over the past 12 months, increasing the number of physicians and patient volume. However, your approval rate from the executive team to hire additional staff has been slow, impacting your ability to recruit new team members to support this increase in volume. In addition, the new hire recruitment process has increased in length of time, resulting in a minimum 8-week interview through onboard process. Due to short staffing and the slow new hire recruitment process, current clinical support staff, including medical assistants, LPNs, and RNs, are feeling burnt out and disengaged, and are ultimately looking for employment elsewhere. These team members are being asked to support more doctors and handle an increased daily patient volume.
