– Each essay needs have its own Personal insight question.

Use easy to understand words correspondent to a typical 17-year-old boy. Please don’t use difficult to understand wording. Keep it simple and straightforward.

1 full page length per each essay ( total 5 essays, unrelated, separate follow each designated insight question and given topic)
each essay need a really strong intro with a hook to grab peoples attention.
General background information about the applicant  :
-Age 17 years old MALE born and raised in the USA
-gender male
-Living in California
-work at grocery store ( bagging groceries)
-have been taking jiu jujitsu lessons for 3 years, currently blue belt
-Did Junior lifeguards program for 3 summers, and became a junior
lifeguard intern this past summer( requires a lot swimming, exercising on the
sand for 3 h, 5 days a week for 6 weeks during summer. You need to pass a
swimming test to get accepted into the program.
-played American football for the first year of high school and didn’t like
because he was overweight and had low self-esteem. jiujitsu helped to
overcome that and helped get close to his father that was very strict and had
hard time in showing love towards him.
-father is American, was in the military for a couple decades.
-mother is half Brazilian half Japanese.
-jiujitsu helped bridge the gap with mothers as well because jiujitsu is from Brazilian culture
-Self-taught Japanese because is one of the languages his mother speaks
( other than main language Portuguese).
Traveled with family to Japan last summer and was able to communicate with locals in Japanese,
in the future wants to do  summer seminars in Japan if possible.
-had to work to help make ends at home.
-love learn about computer in his time off as well as play video games.
-got a 3-d printer at age 15 and love make 3 D small figures and have a
Online Esty store where sells figure to save money.
-is youngest of 3 siblings( 2 older sisters all current in college )

positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over
time.”
Topic to be used : Junior Lifeguards Summer program (after 2 summer, became a helper intern last summer)

○ The exam on the first day
○ Not being in shape
○ Know no one in my group
● Overcoming conflict
○ Pier jumping ( the program had a pier jumping day which was the most fearful day for all the kids to jump due to height of the pier and the long swim back to shore after everyone from your group jumped)
 
○ Running several miles in a day
○ Making friends and helping them overcoming fear of jumping the pier
● Being an intern
○ Co-leading the group with the instructor
○ Helping the young group members

Question 2: What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? How have you
developed and demonstrated that talent over time?
Topic to be used : Jiu Jitsu
