In your assignment for the week in 300 words I want you to:
1) Describe what Peter Singer’s primary concern is regarding the extent to which we can but do not aid those who we know are in need. Why does he think that distance is not relevant when we decide how to spend our money?
2) Reflect on your own life. Think about the things that you buy but do not need. Can you come up with any reasons to dismiss Peter Singer’s assertion that the money you spend of frivolous things should have instead been spent to save a life? Give morally relevant reasons, saying do not want to is not a good response.
