Directions Within the healthcare industry access to information/data is restrict

Directions Within the healthcare industry access to information/data is restricted. Every employee has different access for what their position requires. For example, providers with multiple office locations and specialties have a practice management software to manage the patient account and demographics and the medical information is housed with electronic health records that communicates between offices, special sites and other side agencies that can send and receive orders for testing/services. A healthcare provider’s needs to be able to pull and write medical information into each encounter. A medical assistant needs access to practice management software, and electronic health records due to duties within the scope of his/her position. An accounts receivable specialist for billing needs full access to the practice management software, insurance carrier portals, and read only access to electronic medical information. For this assessment you will be creating an action plan and making recommendations for managing information technology in a healthcare setting of your choice. You will need to meet the following requirements of the directions including supporting data: 1. Research and evaluate a healthcare facility of your choice. Identify and describe the type of healthcare facility you chose. 2. Analyze the responsibilities of the facility’s technology personnel. 3. Explain how confidentiality, ethics, and governmental regulations impact (positively, negatively, or both) the safeguarding of health information. Provide at least one example for each: confidentially, ethics, and government regulations. 4. Identify and analyze two ways this facility’s data can be compromised, and two ways it should be secured.
