Watch or read 2-3 short media segments (they have articles, video clips, interviews, etc.) under that theme, then write a 300-400 word response explaining how what you’ve read/seen connects back to the theory of “discourse” and specifically Hall’s idea of race as a discursive category. (For instance, if you were reading about scientific racism, consider how the scientific discourse around race has historically produced “knowledge” in a way that benefits the dominant groups in power.) Make sure to cite Hall and whatever sources you look at on the website.
