Healthcare professionals should be able to influence policymakers through genuine efforts to act as advocates in the field and for the patients they serve.
In an infographic and a proposal email, you will demonstrate and reflect on the role of leadership in health policy decision making.
Create a professional proposal email, and an infographic.
Include an APA-formatted title page and reference page.
Include the graphics you created in your previous assignments. Include all items in one Word document.
Step 1
Condense the key content from Steps 1-4 of your HIA from Module 4 (screening, scoping, assessing, recommendations/reporting) into a few bulleted statements to include in your email. Focus upon evidence-based decision-making strategies.

Step 2
Connect ideas presented within the seven foundational principles of population health policy to empower stakeholders and inform the development of practical tools, research, and education for the policy you selected in Module 1. Create an infographic to illustrate your connections. You may use the tool in the Resources or another of your choice from the ACE Digital Tool Center.
Step 3
Reflect on your learning experiences in this course and identify the role of healthcare leadership in health policy decision-making.
Step 4
Draft a polite, professional email addressed to your/the policy-affiliated representative or senators (see samples in Resources below). Your email should reference the policy you selected for study, explain the role of healthcare leadership, and briefly mention the Health Impact Assessment (HIA) and graphics you created in this course, including this module assignment’s infographic.
Step 5
Compile a Word document with these components:
Title page
E-mail proposal draft, referencing the policy, the HIA, and graphics you would include as attachments to the email
