Question
Chapter 3 of the textbook lists various media conglomerates and the bus

Question
Chapter 3 of the textbook lists various media conglomerates and the businesses they own. Please look at these lists about Disney, News Corporation, 21st Century Fox, Time Warner, CBS and Viacom, and Bertelsmann. Find 2-3 of your favorite media platforms (magazines, radio stations, cable channels, etc.) and discuss how the ownership of that platform might affect your consumption/interpretation of the content.
Address the following questions in your writeup:
Were any of your favorite media outlets/products in these lists? Which ones? (Example: ESPN, Sports Illustrated magazine, ABC television channel, etc.)
Did you know before this assignment that some of your favorite media products/companies were owned by a larger corporation?
Do you think this will affect the way you think/feel/respond to this content you consume regularly? Why or why not?
Do you think deregulation (this means reducing or removing government power in the media industry. Government regulations create more competition and prevent media conglomerations) should be reversed to put more restrictions on how large a corporation can get? Why or why not?
