Moving the body is crucial for health and healing. We are experts when we’re children… We jump, skip, hop, dive, run, squat, hang, crawl, slide, leap, climb- we do anything to move! We convulse with laughter, we roll around- we move, we just move! Then we grow up and the frequency (and fun!) of our movement generally decreases. Perhaps returning to our child-like yearning for movement is a way to nurture health and healing. Moving and not worrying about how we’ll look. Moving and not worrying about who is looking. Finding ways to weave movement into the day. Finding movement that interests and enlivens us. Your Perspective What are some practical and concrete ways that you have used to infuse movement into your day? Perhaps it is not a designated “exercise” time (going to the gym etc.) but you’ve found ways to infuse different kinds of movement into your day. Write your response. In your perspective, what are some natural and organic ways you can implement movement as you work with your clients/patients everyday? Give a few examples of ideas you would like to initiate and implement.
