impact scenarios where our hidden biases to our conscious self plays out in different
contexts in the workplace. These 8 scenarios include:
1. New Dad
2. Lovely Handwriting

5. Pretty Emotional
6. Three men, One team
7. Put Together
8. One of the Spouses
This assignment will present an opportunity to evaluate the impact of these biases that
serve as personal and social barriers to effective relationships.
Instructions:
From the scenarios above, select three to analyze and determine the basis for the
underlying bias and how they act as social and personal barriers. You will evaluate
these biases and identify countermeasures and strategies that could be used by the
individuals represented in these scenarios to mitigate such outcomes and prevent their
reoccurrence. Questions to be addressed in this assessment for each of the selected
scenarios:
1. What is type of unconscious or implicit bias exists in this scenario?
2. What kind of impact is likely on the recipient of the bias(es) presented in the
scenario?

3. From the strategies outlined in the text and others you may have researched,
what are some sound strategies to mitigate the bias(es) presented in the
scenario?
Requirements:
Prepare a response paper in APA paper of at least 1,200 words of narrative, paragraph
paper format that describes your prepared responses to the questions provided for each
of the 3 selected scenarios.
You should include at least three peer reviewed journal article sources to defend your
contentions presented in your paper (minimum of one for each scenario). Your textbook
may also be used, but does not count towards the research requirement. Make sure to
cite your sources in your narrative response in APA format with in-text citations and a
reference listing.
Be sure to read the criteria below by which your work will be evaluated before
you write and again after you write.
