Next, after reading and reflecting upon the articles for Week Three, in your opinion, why do some correctional employees cross the line and behave inappropriately with inmates, given that this behavior is illegal and against policy. It should be evident that you have carefully reflected upon the assigned readings. And, after reading the article, “The Economics of Crossing Over,” point to one significant research finding that you found to be of interest. Be sure to discuss how this finding advances our understanding of guard-inmate boundary violations. Also, please discuss why this particular finding may be of interest to correctional administrators and/or policymakers. Next, how do you think inappropriate staff-inmate relationships occur?
