Follow -Up Reading Response: FIAW Chapter 1
What in chapter 1 of FIAW did you react most strongly to? That could mean enthusiastic agreement or disagreement, confusion, or something else? Explore, in writing, what your reaction was, why you think you reacted this way, and how might the concept or your reaction to the concept impact your writing in this class?
You should aim quote the sentence, phrase, or word that you’re responding to and cite the book as I have in our schedule. Place the sentence, phrase, or word that you are quoting inside quotation marks. At the end the sentence put the author’s last names and the page number you found the quote on inside parentheses.
For example, on the first page of Chapter 1 in From Inquiry to Academic Writing, the authors state that “academic writing is what scholars do to communicate with other scholars” even though when I hear that phrase I think of high school English class (Greene and Lindinsky 1).
Your response should be at least 250 words (one FULL double-spaced page) and no longer than 500 words.
Remember that we are practicing MLA formatting so be sure to add a heading, page numbers (if you need them), correct margins, and line spacing.
