When fishing lines break, these weights usually fall and accumulate at the bottoms of rivers, lakes, and other water reservoirs. Explain why lead accumulation can become an environmental problem. In your answer, address the following questions:
What happens with elemental lead in water?
Do temperature, salinity, and oxygen level in water affect the problem?
What metal will you recommend as a replacement to lead? Why?
