Case Summary: The patient is an 18 month old male with a 2 day history of a shortness of breath, fever, and productive cough. Additional symptoms includes rhinorrhea and decreased appetite. Immunizations are up to date, developmental milestones present and appropriate for age. Physical findings include: Temp of 102 degrees F. tachypnea and SaO2 92%. erythema in pharynx, pulmonary wheezing and crackles. Risk factors include exposure to second hand smoke.
