Capstone Oral Presentation requires 3:30 – 5:00 minute speech, based on your experience preparing, exploring and developing a relevant topic for the Final Written Capstone. Speeches should summarize the topic, state your thesis and the main points, address your research process, analyze challenges and difficulties, articulate your expectations, and assess the effectiveness of your efforts. You should conclude with a reflection on what was successful and what you would do differently, and the value of the experience. Requirements: Speech must be 3:30 – 5 minutes long, posted as link to You Tube video, and must address all criteria listed below Outline Introduce and summarize your topic State your thesis including three supporting points Describe your research process Analyze challenges and difficulties Articulate your expectations for completion of the final paper Assess the effectiveness of your efforts. Conclusion: reflection on what was successful and what you would do differently, and the value of the experience. The acceptable format for this assignment is a link to your video posted on You Tube. After you complete your recording, post the final version to You Tube and paste the URL into the submission area text box. Videos are often very large files and consequently difficult to upload. You Tube compresses the file and makes it easier to share them. If you save the file as private be sure your instructor can access the video. Additional Guidelines While recording your speech you cannot pause your tape at any time. This means that you must begin speaking immediately and without a break in recording. Avoid reading the entire speech. While notes may be employed, one of the goals of this assignment is to show proficiency in oral communication. Speak direct to the camera. Professional appearance and poise is important to a successful presentation
