Faster Computing was impressed with your presentation. The company is interested in moving forward with the project, but the senior management team has responded to the presentation with the following questions and concerns:
(12.3.2: Describe the implementation of controls.)
How will security be implemented in the Linux systems—both workstations and servers?
(10.1.2: Gather project requirements to meet stakeholder needs.)
End users have expressed some concern about completing their day-to-day tasks on Linux. How would activities such as web browsing work? How would they work with their previous Microsoft Office files?
(12.4.1: Document how IT controls are monitored.)
The current Windows administrators are unsure about administering Linux systems. How are common tasks, such as process monitoring and management, handled in Linux? How does logging work? Do we have event logs like we do in Windows?
(2.3.2: Incorporate relevant evidence to support the position.)
Some folks in IT raised questions about the Linux flavor that was recommended. They would like to see comparisons between your recommendation and a couple of other popular options. What makes your recommendation the best option?
(10.1.3: Define the specifications of the required technologies.)
How does software installation work on Linux? Can we use existing Windows software?
How can Linux work together with the systems that will continue to run Windows? How will we share files between the different system types?
The deliverable for this phase of the project is a memo. There is no minimum or maximum page requirement, but all of the questions must be fully answered with sufficient detail. The recommended format is to respond to the questions in a bulleted format. Provide sufficient detail to fully address the questions. You must cite at least two quality sources. For your citations, please follow the APA formatting and style guide version 7.

(1.4.3: Write concise and logical sentences in standard academic English that clarify relationships among concepts and ideas.)
Your memorandum should not include spelling or grammatical errors. Any Linux commands must be displayed in lower case. Information technology acronyms (e.g., SSH or FTP) should be explained for the reader.

Project 2: Rhetorical Analysis
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to assess a text’s rhetorical effectiveness by identifying the text’s purpose and analyzing how elements of that text are used to persuade the intended audience toward that purpose.
Goal: A rhetorical analysis explains how/why a text might be effective for a particular audience. Your goal will be to analyze the effectiveness of a written text’s rhetoric, using classical/Aristotelian analysis as it is explained in Student’s Guide.
Assignment:
Select one of the following texts:
Claudia Rankine – “Graphite Against the Sharp White Background” – https://slate.com/culture/2015/08/serena-williams-… (Heres the link to the reading)
Determine the specifics about the texts rhetorical situations:
1.You need to identify the specific audience the texts addresses.
2.You must determine what’s the “message” or “purpose” for this audience.
Note: Your thesis should address WHAT the text is doing (its purpose or argument), HOW it is doing that (persuasive strategies), and WHY it is effective or not effective for its intended audience (this last component should be saved for your reinstated thesis).
Do not devote too much time to introductions or conclusions; the bulk of your work should be dedicated to analysis. The introduction should state the creator’s purpose and thesis, as well as briefly introduce/describe the text. The conclusion should discuss the implications of your analysis and offer your final thoughts on the rhetorical effectiveness or ineffectiveness of the piece.
Your essay must be separated into paragraphs that form a coherent and logical argument. Your essay needs to be fully developed, with each point you make adequately supported by illustrations from the text and thoroughly explained in full and clear detail (PIE Paragraphs).
You will be allowed the option to set up a “lens” for your analysis with outside sources–as long as sources are approved by Rafael.
Note: Remember, one paragraph—one idea.
The finer details:
·There is no reason for any deviation from the standard formatting (no “cheap tricks” of messing with margins or character spacing, etc). Your essay must follow MLA guidelines for format: Typed, Double-Spaced, Size 12 font (Times New Roman or Times font), with 1” margins on all sides.
·4-5 pages in length, not including Works Cited. Any essay that is less than 4 pages will not receive full credit because it won’t be long enough to effectively explain your thesis.

Instructions for Address the Opposing Viewpoints and Offer a Solution to Your Problem/Topic
Your goal in Essay 2 is to offer a solution to your opponents = readers who have the opposing/opposite point of view on your topic
While defending your position on your topic, you will identify a solution to the problem or issue at hand. An argument, in which only your views are presented and supported, is not an argument, since an argument has opposing views.
The most typical strategy for integrating opponents points of view into an argument is to think of the argument as a reasoned discussion, where those with contrary views argue particular opposing “points” on an issue. Your job is to now include viewpoints contrary to your own and then respond to those points, either with agreement (concession) or disagreement (refutation).
Remember to identify the issues in your thesis and explain why your issues are important. You should also demonstrate your authority of your topic by including your research to support your position and opinion so that your reader is willing to possibly agree with your research and interpretation of the topic and change their opinion.
For your research you must use citations for all your quotations, paraphrases, or summaries of another author’s facts and figures.
