Topic
(Course Book: Redish, A. D. (2010). The MInd within the Brain: How We Make Decisions and How Those Decision Go Wrong. New York: Oxford University Press./ I have attached Research Project introduction and several PPT files containing course contents)
You are to select a topic related to the cognitive neuroscience of decision making
A detailed exploration of a topic only touched on in class or
A realted topic we didn’t discuss at all in class or
An application of the course material to an area of your interest
This is an opportunity for you find an intersection between the course content and your other interests. Decision making is relevant to almost every human endeavour from art to science to medicine to engineering to sports to business.
I need 3 files
Research proposal: 1-page description of your topic and how you will approach it
Formatting: approximately 1 page typed proposal, list references in APA format (these can be on a second page), no other formatting requirements!
Content: describe your topic, discuss how your topic relates to the cognitive neuroscience of decision making, provide an overview of how you will approach the topic, provide 2 or 3 examples of the relevant research literature (not invluding ariticles from the course)
Research presentation: ~10 min presentation to the class on you chosen topic
Formatting: PowerPoint slides are welcome
Content: this is an opportunity to share your research topic with the rest of us, describe the topic and explain what the research shows (and what is not known!), you don’t need to include everything in your research paper. For a presentation, it is better to present a few ideas clearly rather than to try to cover everything hurriedly, add your own personal view. For example: Why is this topic of interest to you? What are your conclusions based on the research? Or what research needs to be done next?
Research paper: 12 to 15 page paper discussing your topic in depth
Formatting: 12 to 15 page double-spaced typed report, list cited references in an APA-formatted reference section, no other specific formatting requirements
Content:
well-written and free of errors in spelling, grammar, and usage
Makes appropriate use of references from peer-reviewed journals (go beyound the readings discussed in class, use articles relevant to topic, and accurately represent their findings, integrate the findings into a coherent argument (don’t just summarize them))
Develops a well-organized and thought-out argument (1. Clear structure, for example: introduction laying out topic, two or four main points/sub-topics supported by research evidence, conclusion bringing it all together : 2. Your point of view as the author should come through, for example: the way you have organized the literature, your opinions about the different approaches, your ideas about the needed directions for future research
Thanks so much!

one:
After learning more from the text about toddler development and the motivation behind their behavior (especially Erikson’s stage of autonomy vs. shame & doubt and research on toddlers’ compliance and active resistance), do you think that “the terrible twos,” a commonly used expression to characterize typical toddler behavior, is a fair description? Why or why not? You can use your own personal experience with toddlers (younger siblings, children, etc.) to support your answer as well as information from the text.
two :
How would you describe your temperament as a young child? Do you think it has remained stable, or has it changed? What factors might be involved?
three :
Pretend you have been asked to speak to a group of parents and preschool teachers about early motor development. What topics would you include in your presentation? For example, what gross- and fine-motor advances occur during the preschool years? Will parents and teachers notice differences between boys and girls? How can adults enhance children’s motor development? What activities or behaviors should adults avoid, and why?
four :
One day, Leslie prepared a new snack to serve at preschool: celery stuffed with ricotta cheese and pineapple. The first time she served it, few children touched it. How can Leslie encourage her students to accept the snack? What tactics should she avoid?
five:
:
After watching the video “Investigating Trees,” answer the following questions:
-In what ways are the activities in this lesson developmentally appropriate (e.g. hands-on, active learning activities)?
-Which activities in this lesson are related to mathematics? Literacy? Art? Science?
-How did the teachers in this video facilitate learning? What materials did they provide? What questions did they ask children?

This assignment is on the following course topics: “Changing Behavior Using Dual-Process and Integrated Theories”. I’ve attached the slides and the reading. Chapter 15 is linked in the SLIDES (both). There are 11 questions. Answers should be shorter than 200 words in length and can often be answered much fewer. It is important to refer to the appropriate evidence when providing your answers where necessary. DO NOT be tempted to copy or cut-and-paste the course materials or the Handbook, use your own words. Cut-and-paste and copied (plagiarized) answers will be given a grade of 0 and may impact your future studies. Questions with greater points value require longer, more elaborate answers. PLEASE DON’T PLAGIARIZED. Again, I’ve attached the slides and the readings are in the SLIDES. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Please make it perfect. Thank you!!

Please note that the first row of data is meant as an example. Please read the example article (Peng et al., 2022) as a guide for how to dissect eachof the four articles assigned. The links to the four assigned articles are found in the Announcements area of our courseroom. These articles change each quarter. Please do not use any other articles. Use only the four articles linked in the courseroom Announcements. The focus of this research matrix is “family caregiving”.
Keep in Mind:
1). This is not merely an assignment for you to find information in an article and copy and paste information into the columns in the below matrix. Read and analyze the authors’ work in each article and evaluate it based on the assigned readings for this course and then offer your evaluation of what you read. You are to offer content in the matrix to reflect that you are an informed consumer of research.
2). There is much variation in published primary research articles and reports. Not all authors will include all the same information, verbatim or at all, based on the headings in the columns below. If that is the case, you will need to offer your own analysis of what the information should be in a logical manner aligned to the other information in the source that is provided. There should be no blank cells in the matrix below.
3). Communicate your input in a manner that is completely scholarly, professional, and consistent with the expectations for members of an identified field of study, using APA style and formatting, with few or no errors and include a formal APA style reference list. The reference from the example article has been completed for you to use as a model.
Parenthetical Citation
Identify the main concepts; often the “keywords” are helpful for identifying main concepts
Provide the research question(s)and/or hypotheses(word-for-word) and state if the questions/
hypotheseswere properly aligned to theresearch method and design
Conceptual or TheoreticalFramework (if not provided, offer your analysis of what framework was applied or what would be a logical one to have applied)
Population description, Sample description, “N=” (number of actual participants)
Research method (approach) & design applied (do not included data collection and data analysis information)
Summary of Findings (in your own words)
(Peng et al., 2022)
Family caregiving;
Person with Schizophrenia; positive caregiving; negative caregiving; rural China; chronic illness management
No clear research question was listed, but extrapolating from the purpose of the study, the question would be:
What is the long-term caregiving experience of family caregivers of people with schizophrenia (PwS) in rural China?
Theory of stress and coping; theory of symptom management
N = 20 people who were a family member of someone who was PwSspanning 1994-2015; provided at least two hours of care daily to PwS for no less than six months in the past year; aged 18-80; Mandarin or Sichuan speaker
Qualitative
The study lead to five main themes (with subthemes):
1. Long-term caregiving experiences for 18 of 20 participants, primarily spouses or parents, even if they wanted to stop as it was difficult to find someone to take over.
2. Caregiver burden (often due to expensive medications) included financial and psychological burdents as well as domestic workload and family stigma associated with schizophrenia
3. Positive thoughts developed over time as younger families managing the PwS grew into older families with fewer domestic burdens and financial strains as well as growth in coping skills and acceptance of their role in the family.
4. Coping strategies were mostly positive for the participants though some got angry when their PwS had a relapse and demonstrated negative coping skills.
5. Family roles and relationship restructuring occurred for most participants where the spouses tended to live separate lives and wives were likely to view their marriages to PwS as a misfortune that was their destiny. And PwS were less likely to be able to take care of their parents as was customary in China leading to strain for other family members.

Overview
In Week 2, you were introduced to literature mapping as part of the preparation for a literature review. This assignment consists of a completing a research matrix, which is type of literature mapping/organizing that uses a table format. This matrix includes research concepts that can be found and connected to the published scholarly research provided by your instructor. Four research articles have been selected for you to read and dissect for completing the research matrix (table). The articles for this assignment are posted in the Announcements area of the courseroom. In the Literature Review Research Matrix [DOCX]

Sampling Method Selection
What sampling approaches are you considering for your research, and why are you considering these approaches? In your initial post, due by Day 3, copy the table from these instructions into the text of your post and complete the table, describing different sampling approaches:
Note: In your rationale, be sure to include a discussion on how your chosen sampling method aligns with your proposed project approach. Cite one or more of the academic resources to support your decision.

Submit your Lab Report #4 here, based on the requirements outlined in the Week 10 Canvas page; this Lab Report is due at the end of Week 11.

Please review the expectations of what should be included, and how this should be formatted, found in our Lab Manual. You are welcome to use the Lab Report Template I built for you, under the Assignments module, as well.
REMINDER: All lab reports should have a title page; subheadings; details of your experiment; graphics that represent the data; a reference page; and show reflection and integration with our recent materials we reviewed. You are encouraged to cite our ebook and/or other readings to support your Introduction & Discussion sections.
A minimum of 2 pages, single-spaced, is expected, including figures, for the body of your Lab Reports. Make sure you are using APA formatting, including a cover page, and final reference page (not included in your page count), and writing in your own words.
Please note: I have changed these assignments to be worth more than 5 points each, simply due to the fact that I expect work that I believe is worth more than 5 points, including the 2 page report. You may earn UP TO 15 points for completing the experiment and submitting a well-done Lab Report.
Reminder to clearly outline your methodology, including details on your materials, participant, methods of data collection and analysis, and other important items.
For Lab Report #4, you will have 2 options to choose from; either a designated exercise from our Lab Manual, or the alternative that I have provided, which uses Sniffy the Virtual Rat Pro (trial version). Make sure that in addition to creating your Lab Report #4 with your title page & reference page, that you answer all questions prompts that were listed this week under the Week 10 Module. Please note that the required discussion prompts for your Lab Manual typically will be answered in the Discussion section of your Lab Report, and should match those I provided for Lab 4, which deviate from our Lab Manual. More details on this required Lab #4 are listed under the Week 10 Module, so read those carefully as you complete the Discussion area of Lab Report #4.
