Most people have faced crisis at various times in their lives. Not all crisis result in suicidal thoughts or behaviors, but everyone has had moments where they’ve felt that they’ve reached their limits and have felt tremendous despair. To help you understand what a client is experiencing during a crisis, sometimes personal evaluation and self-reflection of one’s own experience with crisis can be helpful.
Discuss and share a crisis event from your life. Address the following: What were the precipitating factors? How did you feel? How did the crisis resolve? Be specific. Give examples.
