In this assessment, you are tasked with writing a major essay or minor research ‘thesis’ as a special topic within the broad Clinical Aesthetic Practice environment that is associated with Evidence-Based Practice. (This could be a null hypothesis where you write about lack of EBP).
Assessment 3: Minor research ‘Thesis’ Essays are intended to test your ability to assess information, to formulate arguments and to critically evaluate different alternatives to issues or problems. In this assessment, you must write minor research ‘thesis’ on a special topic within the broad Clinical Aesthetic Practice environment that is associated with Evidence Based Practice (This could be a null hypothesis where you write about lack of EBP). The focus is on the special topic in clinical aesthetics and how EBP has informed the practice of your special topic. The topic cannot be the same as provided in other units of this degree. Using at least one meta-analysis literature review where you must identify and report what previous studies have shown in relation to your special topic. It is expected that you carefully review your chosen special topic, to identify papers/studies to find commonalities and disagreements that emerge from the studies. Your paper must be logically developed with sequential information flow. Ensure you cover above criteria and these specifics: • You need to have a clear introduction of context information and a concise thesis statement. (Do check ‘how to write a Thesis Statement’ in the assessment resources). • A clinical aesthetic topic is defined, and rationale is provided to its importance. • Use of a meta-analysis review informing EBP. • Use of various methodologies used in the research. • Identification of constraints or limitations in or of the research. • Exploration of ethical considerations of the research papers and relating to the special topic. • Establish a clear argument of EBP implementation and practice of your special topic. • How is EBP interconnected with your minor thesis topic is clearly documented. • Use of full current APA citation and referencing aligned with ACHW APA Referencing Guidelines. Assignment length is 3000 words.
