You will need to make the essay longer (1300-1500 words/about 4 pages total), add two new sources, and include well-developed examples to support your ideas. Select a film that uses multiple languages as a central element of the movie. How is multilingualism used in the movie? For what purpose? In what ways are languages associated with particular characters, places, and spaces within the film? How does the use of multiple languages add to character and plot development? Be sure to include specific examples from the movie as well as relevant concepts, ideas, and quotes from your readings. 2 new, additional academic sources related to the topic of your paper beyond those used in the short essay. These academic sources can be either books, book chapters, or academic articles. I recommend academic articles since they are easy to access via UofA library. These sources must be in addition to the readings you’ve done for class.
