In the next 8 weeks, each student in class will develop a marketing plan for a product. The product (or service) you select will be used each week and can be any one product from a company. It is recommended to use a large company (Fortune 500 or 100) with a popular product to be able to research information for the digital marketing plan. Approval will be provided in a response post from the instructor for the product selected for the Marketing Plan. You will be selecting a PRODUCT, but you also will want to make sure you’ll be able to find research for the company. Watch the Business Research Resources Video to learn how to find information in our UMGC library business databases. Next, review the business databases to research your company. Research will be included in all of our marketing plan projects and by taking this step early, you’ll have success in finding more information on your company or competitors for your project.
In your initial post, you will want to introduce the company and product selected and include:
Part 1: Product Selection
Product name and overview of the company (select one product)
Why you selected the product
Product/company website link
Name at least two business databases you will be using for research for your company from the list in the UMGC Library (check to make sure the company selected is listed): https://libguides.umgc.edu/marketing
Part 2: Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations created 17 goals known as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals to solve the world’s greatest challenges. The UN realized the power of partnerships with companies to use marketing technologies to help accomplish these goals. Each chapter in our book includes an example of how a brand has applied its marketing to accomplish the SDGs. Find an example in our book or use the company you’ve selected for your digital marketing plan and provide:
A summary of the example
The goal of the SDG from the company
How the company incorporates the goal into the brand marketing
How does this benefit the company?
To review the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, please review Chapter 1 in our class book: Principles of Marketing for a Digital Age, or visit the list of goals on this site: https://unstats.un.org/sdgs/indicators/indicators-list/
