Practice Question –
For obese adolescents with a BMI >94th percentile, what is the effect of initiating the National Institute for Kids Health Quality-Obesity toolkit for weight reduction over 8-10 weeks?
Results • Describe the data analysis plan in detail, congruent with the outcome measures of the project. • Provide a clear answer for the practice question • Describe the specific statistical tests utilized to analyze data. • Cite literature to support the statistical tests identified for analysis.
• Provide a detailed summary of the project results (written summary + charts/graphs)
Data Collection and Analysis Plan
• Detailed descriiption of how the pre-and post-intervention data was collected
• Data collection instrument or tool? • Provide validity and reliability (citation/reference) •Specify statistical analyses of the data collected • Must answer the practice question! •Summarize how the analysis of the outcome determines the practice change project outcome (answers the practice question) Explain your data collection plan to measure your intervention’
Office staff collected the pre- and post-weight during in-office visits and notated them in the participant’s medical record. Through a medical record audit, I collected and recorded the pre-and post-intervention participant weight on an Excel spreadsheet for comparison. The weight data is de-identified. There is no need to connect the weight data to each participant because the mean weight pre-intervention will be compared to the mean weight post-intervention. The de-identified data will be entered on the spreadsheet and saved to the password-protected computer. Pre- and post-intervention weights will be compared and analyzed to determine whether the intervention affects the weight. Explain your plan for data analysis and how you will determine if your intervention impacted your project outcome and practice problem. A paired t-test will be utilized to assess the effect of the intervention on participant weight. the initial (pre-intervention) and post-intervention weights of the participants were collected through chart review, and the results were on an Excel spreadsheet for analysis. A decrease in participant weight will indicate that utilization of the National Institute for Kids Healthy Quality Obesity Toolkit for weight reduction effectively decreases weight among obese adolescents, thus a practical resource for providers in screening and educating identified obese patients.
I need data analysis and the result of pre- and post-weight with a paired t-test. The data are attached. If more information is needed, let me know as soon as possible.
