Students will write a case study based on the women’s health topic they selected for assignment
#1 (BREAST CANCER SCREENING). An introduction (10) will provide general information and will state the purpose/aim of the
case study and the nature of the case being described including the basis of the case (actual,
adjusted, simulated etc.).The background (10) will include evidence in the literature about the
respective topic selected and emphasis why the selected topic is important to address.
The case (15) section will give background on the patient being presented (please use initials-not
actual patient names) and the assessment approach used, and assessment findings. The overall
factors impacting the client’s health need to be addressed, including a discussion on the social
determinants of health. The intervention (15) section Identify at least 5 interventions that are
evidenced based with realistic time frames that can be done for the patient that will allow
them to have optimal outcomes; provide rationales for your interventions, and include the
interprofessional team (i.e. include other members of the healthcare team that are a part of
the plan of care). The outcome (10) section will address the nursing outcomes the nurse would
expect to see if the plan is working; realistic time frames should be set. o The evaluation (10) section will address the extent to which the outcomes have been achieved. If
a simulated case is used, address how the outcomes would be evaluated. Finally, conclusion &
recommendations (10) section – make a concluding statement. This section may address how
health policy, nursing standards, or health education (professional and patient) may contribute to
a reduction or remediation of the health issue or how standards may be changed and/or research
used to better facilitate early diagnosis, enhanced interventions, or reduction in associated
disparities. In addition to the narrated poster presentation, students will submit an appendix –
which will be the reference list (5). A minimum of 3 references need to be documented, 2 must
be from peer reviewed journals. Oral and visual presentation of the poster and APA formatting
