This assignment aims to help students become more familiar with the ACA Code of Ethics and start thinking about how this information applies to their professional identities. Each student will review the ACA Code of Ethics focusing on professional values, fundamental principles, its purposes, and the information that can be found in each section. Each student will identify a corresponding ethical issue that would prompt referring to each of the sections.
Review the ACA (2014) Code of Ethics and address the following:
1. Explain/summarize the core professional values in own words and then identify how they impact own professional identity.
2. Explain/summarize the fundamental principles of professional, ethical behavior in own words and identify how they impact own professional identity.
3. Identify one main purpose of the ACA Code of Ethics in own words and identify why this is important.
4. Briefly summarize each of the nine sections in own words, identifying what information can be found in each section. Then, provide a specific example of an ethical issue that would require review of such specific section.
Other Considerations:
· Structure paper with APA headings based upon the criteria above. No other sources other than the Code of Ethics should be used. Think of this paper as an abbreviated guide to the Code of Ethics, which can serve as a brief reference. · APA style and format count. · Introduction and conclusion paragraphs needed. · Five pages min/seven pages max. Title page and reference page needed.
