It is time to get familiar with the celestial sphere. It is a concept that helps us thinking about the positions of objects in the sky. You will use a planetarium software to model the sky. In the pre-lab reading you will be introduced to the different coordinate systems. The lab handout gives you a general description of the lab and the report contains all the questions you need to answer. When you have completed the lab submit the report in the lab report drop box. It is important that the report looks professional. Please make sure you format it appropriately. You could answer the questions using a different font color or change the font to italic.
The lab consists of the following tasks:
Step 1: Download “Stellarium” from www.stellarium.org
Step 2: Install Stellarium on your computer
Step 3: Familiarize yourself with the software. You can also look up the user guide.
Step 4: Read the lab handout and prepare your investigation
Step 5: Answer all questions to the five parts in the report.
Step 6: Check your answers. Spell check the report before submitting it. This might help https://eyesonthesky.com/articles/12
