PowerPoint Slides: DO: Use PowerPoint or Google Slides Add Notes (which I can view) OR record your presentation Refer to Capstone Outline Rubric – attached Submit your work on time through Canvas. Emailed work is not acceptable. This outline is due in Week 2 – see syllabus for details DO NOT: IF you record your PPT =>Do not read your bullet points – I can do that. Explain your points – they will provide me with clarity and your direction. Do not presume that readers of your project are knowledgeable with regards to the designated industry or the chosen company. (Complete your scenarios, ideas, examples with details, clarity, and focus.) Suggested slides to help with your outline: Title slide Working title Your name Introduction Explain topic and industry/company of your project Provide background information How does/did this industry/company fall into its issues/problems What is your interest in the industry Are you familiar with this industry/company and if so, how What issues/problems/concerns do you see which need addressing Problem/Opportunity Define the problem OR opportunity within the company and its impact Include company financial data and other relevant information to provide a bigger picture of the issue or opportunity when possible Examples The company lost $4 million in Q3 the company saw a 20 % decline in subscribers The company has leftover inventory, etc. Include figures (charts, graphs, etc.) Literature review (This section will be fully developed in your final paper) Provide information which will develop/address/structure your project. (i.e., Model, Theory, Competition within the industry, etc.) The evidence at this point will not/may not be as deep/concise/thorough however, be cognizant of multiple aspects of your project. You may find that through the development of your project that one or more of your entries do not apply however other entries fit within your scope of work. This is where your critical thinking skills shines – the advantage of thinking outside your initial parameters/perspective. Methodology / Research Method Explain in detail the methodology/research model of your project Case study Interviews Survey/s Evaluation Sustainability Assessment Provide sufficient information, support facts, provide theory Visuals: graphics depicting compare/contrast, roadmap design, and other images are helpful at this stage Discussion What are you proposing for this company (add training, lay off employees, create a different function, etc.) Justify your actions and provide a timeline of dates and months of when these actions can be realistically implemented. What do you believe will be the outcome after your proposed solution is implemented? Provide projected financial gains (think in terms of new customers, new subscribers, greater sales, etc.) Conclusion Include a recap and summary of the key improvements for each action with a focus on the benefits to the company Explain limitations/issues which may interfere/delay/pose additional ramifications References Begin adding references to your slides. Book Literature review articles Company/Industry research articles Theory/Model MUST be APA 7 format Helpful Outline Pointers: All of the PowerPoint slides will not/may not be complete with regards to the Week 2 deadline; HOWEVER, you should have a plan or ideas to shape your project. To help your slide presentation, suggested headers are explained below. Introduction, Methodology, & Problem/Opportunity should provide information which shows your intent and plan of action Literature review, Discussion, & Conclusion should contain limited amounts of information. Explain your direction, up to this point – again, this will help me picture your project Begin your Reference Slide/s as soon as possible. Use APA 7 format. By the end of the second week, there should be a few entries in the Reference slide You are not confined within these initial slides. Your project may veer off course or develop deeper information as your study moves forward, however the premise to the learning objectives should be apparent within the slides. DO NOT worry about the aesthetics of the PowerPoint at this point. Content, clarity, and structure are more important. There are no late submissions on this assignment or the final project. Plan accordingly.
