Strategic Appraisal Report– This analysis is expected to give students the opportunity to evaluate a company of their choice and use the strategy tools discussed in this course. You will act as a consultant who has been asked to give a status of the organization to the board of directors.
Board members are short on time so it is very important that your report is concisely written and free from speculation and drama. Please use (the attached) template. You must apply APA style citations for your references. Your report should not go over 10 pages in length not including your title page or reference page.
*Please note* 10 pages is not a hard 10 pages. If you are providing valuable information that is needed for the BOD, then please include it. Please do not use any other template other then the one provided. We do not accept footnotes, MLA, colorful designs, PDF etc. Please just follow the template and the directions accordingly.
Your report should include the following:
Executive Summary- no citations and not a history lesson.
High-Level Recommendations- no longer than 5-10 words for each bullet.
The organizations vision/mission statement- this must be cited and be only the mission and vision of the organization.
The external environment including:
Segments of the environment that currently impact the firm
Porter’s Five Forces Model
The internal environment including:
Resources, capabilities, and core competencies
Value chain analysis
SWOT analysis
Business model
Type of business-level strategy used
Competitor analysis
International opportunities
Organization structure & leadership
Innovation
Recommendations that are mapped to your data that has been collected. For example, According to the SWOT analysis…..
