Recognizing that family partnerships help support children’s growth and development, there are times when we need to provide information to caregivers. A quick way to provide information is with a brochure. Brochures provide introductory information or a summary of basic focal points. Using any program that you want, create a tri-fold brochure (six columns: 3 front, 3 back) for the families of young children about ONE of the following topics:
Importance of Immunizations
Lead Poisoning
Shaken Baby Syndrome
Brain Development – In Utero through Age 5
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
Importance of Sleep
Toxic Stress Harms Early Brain Development of Infants and Toddlers
High Quality Infant Care
Building Resilience in Children
Oral Health of Children from Birth through Age 8
You will be graded on:
Content and components
Discussion of why the topic is important
Possible suggestions/resources for the parent
Provide at least 2 links to helpful websites- This is not the same as a reference section. Name of website
Web address
Brief personalized descriiption of why it’s helpful/useful
Please include the following:
Provide several statistics, related fact (both positive and negative)
3 relevant pictures include the source
Make clear points – bullets are best on a brochure
Parent-friendly format and information
APA formatting and citations required
In-text – citations are near the illustrations and appropriate text.

Illustrations require in-text citations
Citations must be within text boxes and under pictures. They can be a smaller font.
Visual Appearance
Catchy cover page
Title for sections that are bold and larger than the rest of the text
Consistent text style and fonts (a size that is easy to read but not too large and a simple font). Pastel colors are difficult to read.
Appropriate amount of content and content organization on each page
Variety of content style (a variety of quotes, paragraphs, bullets, charts, pictures, etc.)
