This Final Paper offers an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the course content and how you can use it when analyzing conflict situations. You will most likely need to refer back to previous weeks for references. Write a minimum 3-4 pages in a standard academic format using 12 pt. font and double spacing, with the first sentence of each paragraph indented one-half inch (using the Tab key once each time).
Choose a particular conflict situation that you were not directly a part of (so you can objectively analyze it), a conflict involving others in your life; or from a book, movie, or TV show; or one you make up (as long as you answer ALL of the questions below).
Complete a Conflict Analysis by using all the following concepts from the course. Explain:
the participants, and their relationship & interdependence
the conflict situation
participants’ interests & goals and unmet wants & needs
filters at play on both sides (cultural and/or gender)
worldviews at play on both sides
whether any of the conflict “4 Horses of the Apocalypse” were at play and their impact on the conflict
the participants’ power bases, if they were balanced or imbalance; power currencies each had (or lacked)
conflict styles each had
influential emotions at play; levels of emotional intelligence involved (or missing)
negotiations & bargaining that occurred
the conflict resolution & whether it was integrative, justified, & equitable. If not, how you think it should have been resolved?
