Writing Assignment #1. How Does Heightened Sensitivity to the Environment Increa

Writing Assignment #1. How Does Heightened Sensitivity to the Environment Increase the Risk for the Development of Internalizing Symptoms?
Read the article by Lionetti et al. (2022) that was published in European Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. (The pdf of this article is attached)
Write a 2-page, double-spaced paper, providing…
(1) the hypotheses of this study (0.5pts)
Tip: Hypotheses are identified in the Introduction section.
(2) the major findings related to the hypotheses (i.e., Were the hypotheses supported or not? How?) (1pt)
Tip: To find the information, look at the Abstract and the Discussion section first; then, if needed, look at the Results section for more detailed information about the findings.
Caution: Do not mix up the findings of this study with previous research findings that are discussed in this article.
(3) your thoughts about the interaction between individual children’s environmental sensitivity and the style of parenting they receive based on what you have learned from this article and your prior experience/observations (1pt)
Tip: Make sure all elements are included in your discussion (i.e., your thoughts about how children’s environmental sensitivity and parenting style interact based on both the article and a real example).
(4) your thoughts about the method of the study—i.e., participants, procedure, and measures (Evaluate two of the three areas; be more specific than “I liked how the researchers…”) (1pt)
(5) your suggestions for future studies that would help shed more light on this topic (at least 3-4 lines to a paragraph) (1pt)
Answer either or both of the following questions.
oWhat would you like to know more about this topic? What could future researchers do to find the answer to your question?
oIf future researchers are to replicate Lionetti et al.’s study, what should they do differently? You may provide suggestions based on your prior evaluations of the method of the study if you have discussed any weaknesses or limitations of the study as a response to Item 4. (If you have difficulty coming up with original ideas, you may get some ideas from the last paragraph of the Discussion section, but do not simply copy the suggestions. Make sure you add your original thoughts.) (6) Writing clarity/grammar (0.5pts)
Writing Assignments should be 2-2.5 pages (at least 2 full pages excluding name or course information lines), double-spaced, with Time New Roman 12-point font, maximum 1” margins, and no quotations (do not copy/paste; only your own words), and in an MS Word document format. Grading: Your submissions will be graded based on the quality (thoughtfulness) of your responses to the first 5 items listed above and the overall quality of writing. Your submission will also be evaluated for writing clarity. You must edit your paper before submitting it, checking for clarity (it helps to read the paper out loud to yourself), as well as checking grammar, spelling, etc. Do not write like you talk or text. Use appropriate, professional, written prose. Papers that do not meet this standard will not be accepted. *Points will be deducted if the paper is shorter than 2 full pages or contains quotes (-0.25 to -2 points)
