The idea of Web 3 is interesting. Several years ago, most talk of Web 3 was related the idea of the Semantic Web and organizing information. It was also used to describe the potential change in web content to a more 3D / Virtual nature. Now, most references to Web 3.0 point to Blockchain Technologies. Depending on the context or the year of an article that you are reading about “Web 3” you will notice some differences. The “blockchain” is often mentioned with cryptocurrencies… but there are many other uses of the technology. For this week, check out the Web 3 folder for some more information and video links on this topic.
For this week’s assignment, submit a 2-page (min) report explaining “Web 3.0”. You can try to explain web 3, discuss how it can be used, the technology, blockchain technology, or anything related. Be sure to do some research to find a good resource to assist you (find an article or two that is different than what was posted for the week). This assignment is a bit open-ended but be sure to cite your sources and use APA style. Make sure that you cite sources using APA style and use scholarly sources.

Bhopal Disaster
The disaster was a horrific time in the world-wide history. You probably have never heard of it, yet it changed our international history forever. This disaster is still plaguing India and the entire world.
Treat this as a case study, the same as in your weekly discussions. What went right? Wrong? If you were a consultant after the fact, what would you suggest? Based on the first half of this course what theories and change management could you put into place.
The paper should be about what we discuss in the class, not the technical aspects of what happened. Rather the Organizational aspects.
Using the same questions, if you were brought in beforehand, what would you have done to change the behavior, actions, and methods of this company both in India and the parent organization in the United States?
The case took place in 1984 which for many is a “long” time ago. There was no Internet or 24-hour news cycle. Keep these points in mind. Please remember to use APA or MLA research and citations. You are not limited to below.
Length: Minimum five pages.
WRITE ABOUT THE ORGANIZATIONAL ASPECTS. What went right? Wrong? If you were a consultant after the fact, what would you suggest?

Read over the “Intro to Intelligent Agent” PowerPoint slide to get a general ide

Read over the “Intro to Intelligent Agent” PowerPoint slide to get a general idea of intelligent agents. They are an important aspect of artificial intelligence but have been a topic of increasing importance as they can also be used on, and over the web. Also, check out the article “Web Intelligence”. There are two additional articles that you might find interesting in the “Additional articles folder” but these are not required readings. These are “classic” articles, one on Agents and the other you may recognize. This leads us to the next assignment: Search Engine Assignment (Due by 11:59pm Monday Feb 26). This assignment has two parts that should in total be 2 -3 pages. (More is fine if you run over. It can be double spaced but use 12pt font – Times New Roman, or similar)
Part 1: Explain briefly how search engines work (What are the major components?). Part 2: Find one research article related to search engine technology and summarize. (It could also be an article related to agents and search engines or text retrieval if you prefer). The research article in part 2 must be from a research conference or journal (a scholarly source). Using Blogs, news, or general articles found on the web are not be appropriate for part 2. Like the last assignment, you must submit a copy of your article in PDF format, not a link. Stick to credible sources (and be sure to cite them in APA style). I noticed in the last assignment many of you cited incorrectly, so please review APA style. If you are not sure, remember there are guides on the TU Cook library website. You will also lose points for incorrect citations. I also noticed that many people used various websites and non-peer-reviewed sources. Many appear good and you may have heard of the source before, but they are not peer reviewed. You may come across lots of mathematical formulas regarding how to rank search results, but no need to explain all of this in part 1 (unless you want). Keep in mind that extra spaces, headings, title pages, diagrams, and long citations will not count toward your page length requirement.
